Champion Helical Flight Augers

Champion Helical Flight Augers are constructed from mild or alloy steel plate, pressed into helical flights, welded on to a suitable stem.
All Champion Augers have each tooth carefully set for optimal cutting. Augers are equipped with the customer's choice of conventional, carbide or rotating carbide teeth and pilots.
Champion Augers are manufactured in sizes from 4 inches to 12 feet or more in diameter and from 1/8 to 3 inches in flight thickness.

Champion Augers with Single Bottom Flight Cutter Heads
This auger is suitable for hole diameter up to 24" in many soil conditions. In larger diameters or in harder drilling, cutting teeth may be set in a stepped back arrangement to distribute cutting forces on the auger.

Champion Augers with Double Bottom Flight Cutter Heads
This auger utilizes thicker double bottom flights with teeth set across the full diameter of the tool. The resulting balanced cutting action allows straighter holes especially in large holes. The Double Bottom Flight Cutter Head Auger is equipped with either single upper flighting (as shown) or with double upper flighting. The auger shown is suitable for many soil conditions. The double bottom flighted augers are most useful in cohesive soils.
This design is available in diameters to 12 feet and more and with moldboard or cross bar type reinforcement of the cutting.
Champion Augers with Crossbar Cutter Heads
A heavy crossbar with cutting teeth spans the full diameter of the auger. The crossbar provides an efficient means of balancing cutting forces on the auger. This design is recommended for holes less than 24" diameter and is most commonly used for post hole and utility pole augers. Utility pole augers with hollow stem and capstan may be ordered to accept standard bolt-on shank plate cutters.
Champion Tapered Augers
Set with rotating carbide teeth the Champion Tapered Auger provides balanced cutting action in the hardest rock conditions. In cobbles or boulders, the same auger provides unmatched rooting and displacement action. For tough drilling applications, in diameter of 18" to 48", this tool is recommended for its versatility.
Champion Rock Augers
Suitable for consolidated or fractured rock, the Champion Rock Auger has the versatility to dig from top to bottom of the hole in the most difficult of conditions. Large rotating carbide teeth are set in an exact configuration that maximizes cutting efficiency.
Champion rock augers are available in double or single (shown) cutter flight configurations. Sizes from 6" to 96" diameter are available.
Champion Flat Augers
These augers are made from flat plate which is hot formed into Champion's unique pitched bottom. The result is a tool that is an aggressive digger yet is lighter, stronger and better balanced than other flat augers. Available in 12" to 72" diameter and plate thickness up to 21/2"
Champion Continuous Flight Augers
Champion Continuous Flight Augers are manufactured in 6" to 36" diameter and shipped in lengths of up to 60 foot per section. Flight pitch and thickness can be varied within the string. Hollow stem connections can be provided for cast in place piles.
Champion Horizontal Boring Augers
Champion Horizontal Augers are designed to withstand the high torques produced by modern boring machines. Augers are made in diameters to enter freely into any specified casing. Special attention is given in the design of the connector and connector fittings to assure that their strength is consistent with the strength of the stem being used. Square or hexagonal connectors are available at customers option. Champion boring heads are available with choice of conventional or conical carbide bits, or combination of both.
